Semi-active control of crankshaft skyhook based on magnetorheological torsional damper

The purpose of this study was to solve the problem that damping rubber or silicone oil torsional dampers used in crankshafts is not adjustable and cannot effectively control vibration at different resonant frequencies. Based on controlled rheological properties magnetorheological (MR) smart materials, designed a new type variable MR damper (MRTD) proposed semi-active method crankshaft under multiple harmonic resonances. First, mechanical model MRTD lumped parametric mass system were developed, resonance frequency range operation determined by characteristics analysis. Then skyhook for proposed, joint simulation analysis performed using Amesim Matlab software. effects with no damper, coefficients, acceleration uniform speed conditions comprehensively investigated. results indicated significantly reduced amplitude both conditions, verifying effectiveness skyhook-based strategy MRTD.
